COURSE OF STUDY
The Board of Education and teaching staff provide a distinctively Lutheran and Christian course of study in keeping with the objectives and philosophy of the school and with the requirements of the State Department of Education. Children graduating from our school are eligible to enter state accredited high schools in the State of Missouri.
A definite program of training in Christian living is maintained during the entire school day in all areas of learning. Children and parents are urged to attend church and Sunday School regularly. Special programs of mission training are planned and carried out.
TEXTBOOKS & WORKBOOKS
All secular textbooks are owned by the school and are provided for the children. The registration fee helps to pay for these learning materials. Bibles and Catechism books are usually purchased by the student. Prices are kept as low as possible.
Students in grades 5-8 are eligible to be recognized for their academic achievement by being named to one of two honor rolls. The first level of recognition is reserved for those students whose grades, in all subjects, are A- or higher. The second level of recognition is reserved for those students whose grades, in all subjects are B- or higher.
A special Chapel worship service is held for the children of our school each Wednesday in the church. PGuests are also invited to attend these services. The purpose of the service is to stimulate children to a desire for proper worship and to afford the children frequent opportunity to worship the Triune God. The children will have the opportunity to present their offerings to Jesus at these services. The worship services are led by the pastors, teachers and special guests who may be available.
Each child is given an achievement test in the spring of the year to determine his progress as well as scholastic strengths or weaknesses. We administer the Stanford Achievement Test.
Trinity Lutheran School provides extracurricular opportunities as an extension of its total education program and to allow students to develop non-academic interests and skills. Extracurricular activities offered at Trinity Lutheran School may include student band and choir. Athletic opportunities offered at Trinity include basketball, soccer, volleyball, and track and field.
All students in grades K-8 are eligible to participate in the Accelerated Reader Program. This nationally recognized reading incentive program allows students to read books from a select list and to take comprehension tests from computer disks.
