It's an honor and a privilege to teach these children and share the love of our Savior with them every day.

5th Grade - Eric Bickel:
I was raised in the state of Michigan by two Lutheran school teachers. I attended Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska, and graduated with a degree in elementary education with a concentration in history. After receiving my colloquy, I accepted a call to teach the 5th and 6th grade in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I also taught 7th and 8th-grade social studies. After two years, I moved to Macomb County, Michigan, where I taught for 12 years. My class assignments ranged from 4th grade through 8th grade, primarily in the subjects of science and social studies. I was athletic director there as well. I then moved to Jackson, Michigan, and was the 7th and 8th-grade homeroom teacher. There I was responsible for the upper grades science and social studies. The big move came in 2008 when I accepted a call to teach 7th grade in Kansas City, Missouri. At Calvary Lutheran, in addition to 7th-grade homeroom, I taught 6, 7, 8, social studies, and science. After 7 years there, God blessed me with a call to Trinity Lutheran in Alma, Missouri. I have been the 5th-grade teacher here for 6 years and absolutely love it.
6th/7th Homeroom, 6th-8th Science - Debra Demel:
I received my bachelor's degree in education and my Lutheran teacher's degree at Concordia University in Seward, NE. I have taught in schools in Iowa, Texas, Nebraska, and Missouri. I have taught every grade from preschool to 8th grade, with the exception of kindergarten. Middle school has become one of my favorite age levels to teach. I appreciate the relationships that you can develop with middle school students. I want to help every child meet their potential. I enjoy the opportunity to help prepare them to be successful in high school. I want every child to leave my classroom knowing that they are cared for by me and to know how very much Jesus loves them. I have taught middle school science for over 8 years. My love of science began at a young age when my family would explore nature primarily in the Black Hills and Badlands of South Dakota. We would often go rock and fossil hunting, visit caves, and spend time exploring the different back areas of the hills.
7th/8th Homeroom, 6th-8th Math - Rob Tebbenkamp:
Hi, my name is Rob Tebbenkamp. I teach 8th grade here at Trinity Lutheran School. I love teaching junior high; they keep me on my toes. I really enjoy watching them grow into young Christian adults. I grew up in Emma, Missouri, and attended Holy Cross Lutheran School. I attended St. Paul Lutheran High School in Concordia, Missouri. After high school, I attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska to become a teacher. In 2011, I received my Master’s in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education in Chicago, Illinois. I graduated in 2003 and took my first call at Grace Lutheran in Fargo, North Dakota (the coldest two years of my life!). In 2005, I received a call here to Trinity Lutheran School to teach 7/8th grade and be athletic director. In 2007, I became principal at Trinity and served in that position for 8 and a half years. I took time away from education for four years and came back to Trinity in 2019 to teach junior high math and geography, and currently teach 6th-8th Math, 7/8th language arts, and world geography. I am married to my wonderful wife Marla, and we have two children Jason and Tyler. We have two dogs and three cats. We have lived in Alma for 16 years and love it here!
